George Carlin

George Carlin died this morning.

He was a rarity, a stand-up comic who was not only HILARIOUS but also made you think. His genius was pointing out hypocrisy and oxymorons in a way that made you gasp for air because you were laughing hard but at the same time made you nod your head because his comedy was so true.

He was the first guest host of "Saturday Night Live" and a comic unrivaled in his social humor by nearly any other comic. A generation of stand-ups were inspired and will continue to be inspired by his unique way of turning a mirror on society and showing both the humor and the problems at the same time. Like Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Lenny Bruce, Bob Newhart and only a few others, he will remain an inspiration and a comedic rarity...an ORIGINAL!

With this post, "GARLICKBUDS 2.0" is OFFICIALLY published on the Internet!

I FULLY realize that traffic will be all but non-existant for a long time to come but I hope eventually this will be a popular Web destination for my friends, both old and either new or yet to be met!

So it's up and the site's lifecycle has begun! Where it goes from here is up to you, the reader, as much as me but I WILL continue to improve it and add new content and technologies as they become available and logical!

Here We Go Again

Hello and WELCOME to "GARLICKBUDS 2.0"!

This is the 2nd incarnation of this blog and will hopefully surpass the prototype (1.0) in EVERY way! Of course 1.0 was such a mashed up mess, most of you never saw it - YOU'RE WELCOME! :)

I want this space to be VERY interactive place for my friends and acquaintances to visit and interact with both me and each other! I have some VERY talented and wonderful friends, each one a gift, and I'd like nothing better than to see them come together in a community and get to know each other and appreciate each other's talents and gifts! If "Web 2.0" is truly about interactivity with a site, "GARLICKBUDS 2.0" will hopefully realize just such a definition!

This site is rough and will always be a work in progress but I hope it's always, at the very least, presentable and worth the time to visit! I am learning and deciding on communications technologies and am open to ANY AND ALL suggestions - this page is as much my visitor's as much as it's mine and I consider it to be a collaboration!
